When Upwork may fit
Upwork can be useful when you want to post a defined project, compare proposals and review a freelancer’s platform profile. It may suit remote editing, a clearly scoped assignment, or a job where you have time to evaluate applicants.
For an in-person convention shoot, look closely at the details behind the proposal: confirmed Orlando availability, camera and audio needs, venue access, interview experience, deliverables and the deadline for files or edits. A low bid is not much help if the crew cannot get where the footage needs to happen.
When booking a local production company may fit
Booking Checkbox directly gives your team a direct conversation with a local production company about the show, shot priorities, access and delivery plan. That can be a good fit when you need filming at an Orlando convention, booth interviews, event highlights or an edit during the show.
Direct booking is not automatically better for every project. Compare the actual scope, availability, production plan and handoff terms. Ask who will be on site, what is included and what happens if the event schedule changes.
One important Upwork rule
If you found a freelancer or client through Upwork, follow Upwork’s current communication and payment rules. Upwork says pre-contract discussions and payment must stay on its platform, and moving an Upwork-sourced relationship off-platform may require its contract-conversion process. Do not use an Upwork connection to bypass those rules.
